Thanks to the WaybackMachine tool, anyone can check for free what website was located under a given domain in the past. It is worth checking whether its category is even close to the vision of the back-end website that we would like to implement. In my opinion, the best solution is to continue the categories/topics of the archived website. There is a high probability (especially in the case of pages that have been disabled recently) that continuing the theme of the page will allow us to profit from the former reach of the page located under this domain.
Domain power There are many tools and many systems for assessing domain power - Trust Flow, Citation Flow, Domain Authority. Regardless of which one you follow, the goal is always to buy only domains with the best possible results. These metrics were created to assess although they are not flawless, they are a better photo retouching starting point than our intuition. A common mistake is, for example, purchasing domains with a keyword in the domain name and believing that it has great SEO power. Just look at who is in the TOPs, look at the given keywords, and see what the competition's domains look like to see that the matching of keywords in the domain name is not a given.

Link profile The last, but equally important element of domain analysis is checking the links pointing to it. Links that point to a given domain can be checked using many tools - Majestic, Ahrefs, or e.g. a free account at SeoSpyGlass. Free tools usually show only part of the links, but even this can give us the answer to our questions. If the link profile contains links from websites with low authority - low Trust Flow, Citation Flow, Domain Authority, then such a domain may experience significant declines in the future with subsequent algorithm updates, so investing in it will not be profitable.
